Do I need to file an FBAR?

Pick the year, then list each foreign account with its highest balance in its own currency. We convert them at the U.S. Treasury's exchange rate for December 31 of that year, the rate FinCEN asks for, and tell you whether you crossed $10,000. Nothing you type leaves your browser.

Which year?

Each FBAR covers one calendar year. The Treasury publishes its December 31 rates in early January, so the 2026 rates arrive in January 2027.
