We help Americans abroad get right with the IRS.
Expat Tax Amnesty exists for one kind of client: Americans living outside the U.S. who fell behind on U.S. taxes, usually without knowing it. We find the right IRS procedure, do all the paperwork, and get you caught up, 100% online.
Our story
Lewis Grunfeld, CPA, founded Expat Tax Amnesty after years of meeting the same person over and over: someone who'd lived abroad for a decade, filed taxes faithfully where they lived, and had just found out the U.S. expected a return too.
Most of them were scared, and most had read the worst-case penalty numbers online. Very few knew that the IRS had created a way back for exactly their situation. The Streamlined Filing Compliance Procedures let Americans abroad who made honest mistakes catch up with a few years of filings and, if they qualify, no penalties at all.
So we built a firm around that one job. As a CPA, Lewis is licensed to represent taxpayers before the IRS (his background and credentials). He leads our tax team, which works only with Americans abroad and people with foreign accounts, so the TFSAs, ISAs, superannuation and Thai retirement deposits are everyday work for us, not edge cases.
Everything is online and every fee is flat, agreed in writing first. It doesn't matter which country or time zone you're in.
